			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I don&#8217;t know if USDA <span id="articleText"><span>Agriculture Secretary </span></span>Tom Vislack was the real culprit or someone higher up but this <a title="sherrod" href="http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE66L3G520100723?type=politicsNews" target="_blank">foul-up is inexcusable</a>. Any manager worth his pay knows better than to jump to conclusions without the facts&#8230;especially regarding personnel decisions! The fact that Obama &#8220;&#8216;instructed his staff to learn from this circumstance&#8221; does not speak highly of the quality of his staff. Someone should be fired or demoted for this and it&#8217;s not Shirley Sherrod.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So much for the much touted <a title="goldman fine" href="http://www.marketwatch.com/story/goldman-sachs-beats-the-sec-2010-07-15" target="_blank">lawsuit against Goldman Sachs</a> for questionable trading practices. These guys really <em>do</em> run the country. A few phone calls, some gentle public flogging, backdoor meetings and voila! A meager fine (based on what they earn) that changes nothing! You might as well close down the SEC. They are completely and utterly useless.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 120px;"><em>So Goldman gets away with a fine<br />
And the SEC loses its spine.<br />
Its more of the same,<br />
They&#8217;re useless and lame<br />
With no bite and a bark that&#8217;s benign.</em></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Republicans are constantly <a title="republicans ideas" href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bill-maher/new-rule-the-republican-l_b_585542.html" target="_blank">proposing &#8216;magical&#8217; ideas</a> to solving our problems vs. more adult solutions. Things like: America is never wrong; you can defeat terrorism with the Army; lower taxes will somehow fix the deficit. It&#8217;s almost as if they avoid thinking. It&#8217;s easier to grab onto a phrase or colloquialism and apply it whenever the going gets tough. The real problem is their blatant self-interest. Their whole agenda revolves around keeping what they got by maintaining the status quo. Not a good prescription for progress.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <a title="oil execs congress" href="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37079761/ns/us_news-gulf_oil_spill/" target="_blank">Oil company executives in front of Congress</a> sounded just the Bankers a couple of months ago. It&#8217;s never anybody&#8217;s fault and they don&#8217;t know what happened. Of course, when things are going well they take all the credit and award themselves bonuses. Not a single one of these people deserves to be called a leader. They&#8217;re just over paid administrators. In an effort to help streamline these congressional inquiries, I&#8217;ve created a limerick that can be recited in response to any and all questions. I&#8217;m sure Congress will thank me later.</p>

Eventually the &#8217;shit will hit the fan&#8217; as the cultures are just to disparate and the monies to large. It hasn&#8217;t happened yet but the shit&#8217;s still warm and the fan is still spinning.</p>

These guys are dyed-in-the-wool capitalists who will &#8220;sell you the rope to hang them with&#8221;. Government is our only protection against these behemoths. Free market concepts fail when a market is controlled by a handful of large companies. Checks and balances are needed. Ignorant conservatives call this socialism but they&#8217;re just being alarmist (as always). Unfettered capitalism is like a kid in a candy store&#8230;it&#8217;s all well and good until he pukes in your car!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Seems every time I read the news, there is another politician trying to inject their particular religious views into the administration of the government. This time it&#8217;s trying to protect <a title="coptic christians" href="http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/04/21/house-members-press-white-house-confront-egypt-forced-marriages/" target="_blank">Coptic Christian women in Egypt</a> from spousal abuse at the hands of Muslim men. Now I don&#8217;t condone spousal abuse in any way, shape or form but this is not an issue for our elected representatives. Is it our job now to protect every women on the planet from abusive husbands &#8230;or just Christian women? Sometimes the Lord has to step up and do his own work.</p>
