Qatar will be hosting the World Cup soccer matches in 2022. Their biggest challenge with be the weather…or lack thereof. Given their location in the middle of the desert, you can reasonably expect temperatures reaching 122 degrees F. That’s no good for players or fans. So their solution is to build giant robotic clouds to float over the stadium and provide shade. Are they kidding? If it’s 122 degrees in the sun then it must be all of 110 degrees in the shade! How about a simple indoor stadium…or maybe don’t play soccer in the desert!
The desert sun always enshrouds
With heat unconducive to crowds,
Now Qatar has an eye
For blimps in the sky
But it sounds like their heads in the clouds.
