The results of this survey discover that atheists know more about religion than their religious counterparts. I don’t find that surprising. Atheists ask a lot of questions looking for answers. Religious people tend to avoid those same questions instead using faith as an easy way out. I think the problem is people don’t distinguish the difference between a belief in God and the practice of religion. The concept of God, even if just an idea, represents our best aspirations. The practice of religion lays bare our worst traits of prejudice, persecution and hate. God is good, religion is the bane of mankind.
