Let the Balloon Go

I wasn’t going to address the ‘balloon boy’ story because it looked, and turned out to be, to contrived. The media however, won’t let it go. I think they’re pissed off because they were suckered into a hoax story. Now they want revenge by diving into the family’s history, effect on the boy, legal issues, blah, blah, blah, ad infinitum. Their race to be first with the story has transmogrified into ‘print first and ask questions later’. This time they got stung.
The media’s job to apportion
The news, sometimes leads to contortion.
This ‘balloon boy’ mess
Still hot off the press,
Has been played way out of proportion.
