The LPGA Fights for Irrelevancy

The LPGA is in town this week and the source of my ire. They have enough trouble with declining sponsorship and lack of fan interest but this latest episode takes the cake. A friend of mine has volunteered at this tournament the last few years but was informed this year that all volunteers had to pay a $75 fee. All of a sudden it’s not good enough to donate your time and effort…they want to charge you for the ‘privilege’. She told them to blow it out their ear. This organization is going nowhere fast and getting there even faster. Good luck with that!

To lose more of the sponsors who back,
The game and its cost.
So to cover what’s lost,
Volunteers will also get whacked.
